Other than replacing the pump the only other thing that could be done is install an external float The only reason I didn't recommend doing this is because I don't know how long that pump's been running for it And it was burning hot to the touch, so I wouldn't want to charge the customer to install an external float and then have the pump fail anyway Any time I replace a some pump I always replace that check valve as it's usually the next thing to fail
