Now all I do is take my open and wrench and just tighten this down until it securely clamps to the pipe. What this does basically just closes up that pinhole leak with that rubber gasket and that will sleeve and it will prevent it from leaking. This is a great temporary repair as far as how long it will last just all depends on the condition of the line you can never say. You don't want to over tighten it but you just want to get it nice and snug so you've got plenty of pressure on it.
