Step 4 · Install the New Sprayer Assembly

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Unpack your new kitchen sprayer kit. Take the new sprayer hose and feed the threaded end down through the hole in the sink deck. If your kit came with a new mounting base, ensure it is properly seated with its gasket over the hole first. From under the sink, slide the friction washer (if included) and then the mounting nut over the hose and onto the threaded shank of the sprayer base. Hand-tighten the nut until it is snug. If the base still feels loose, use a pair of channel-lock pliers to give the nut an additional quarter-turn, but be careful not to crack the plastic.
