Step 2 · Install Blocking and Mark Valve Position

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Precisely locate the wall studs where the valve will be mounted. Using the manufacturer's instructions, measure and mark the positions for the hot and cold water supply lines and shower head outlet. Install sturdy blocking between the studs to provide robust support for the valve, securing it with screws. Account for the finished wall thickness (tile, drywall, etc.).
