Step 3 · Clean the Outdoor Condenser Unit Coils
Clear away any leaves, grass clippings, dirt, or other obstructions from the base and sides of the outdoor condenser unit. Gently bend back any severely damaged fins with a fin comb. Using a garden hose with a spray nozzle, gently spray the fins from the inside out (if possible) or from the outside in. Avoid using a pressure washer, as it can damage the delicate fins. For stubborn grime, you can use a commercial condenser coil cleaner, following the product's instructions carefully.
