Step 2 · Remove the Old Shower Knob
This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.
Carefully remove any decorative cap covering the screws securing the shower knob. Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. Next, locate and remove the screw(s) holding the knob. Once the screw(s) are removed, firmly grasp the knob and pull it straight off the valve stem. If the knob is stuck, try gently wiggling it before applying more force.
