Step 1 · Turn Off Water Supply and Prepare Work Area

Before beginning, safety first! Completely shut off the water supply to your bathtub. This is typically done at the shut-off valves under the sink. If you don't have shut-off valves, turn off the main water supply to your house. Open the faucet to release any remaining water pressure. Gather your tools (screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrench, Teflon tape) and a container to catch any residual water.
