Step 1 · Turn Off the Shower's Water Supply

Before starting any plumbing repair, safety first! Locate and turn off the water supply valves for your shower. These are usually found beneath the sink or within an access panel behind the shower. Turning the valves clockwise should shut off the water flow. If unsure, consider turning off the main water supply to your house as a precaution.
