Step 2 · Remove Old Faucet Handles and Escutcheon

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Carefully remove the old faucet handles. This typically involves unscrewing a set screw or cap, then gently pulling off the handle. Next, use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the escutcheon plate and remove it.
