Step 2 · Remove the Shower Handles

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Carefully remove the old shower handle(s). For two-handle valves, remove both hot and cold handles. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry off any decorative caps concealing the screws underneath. Then, unscrew the handles using a suitable screwdriver.
