Mount Solar Panels and Final Connections — Solar Panel Installation
Part of project
Residential Solar Panel System · Step 4 of 7
In this video
Carefully lift and place each solar panel onto the rails, aligning them with the pre-marked layout. These panels can be heavy (e.g., 50 pounds), so exercise caution. Slide mounting bolts or clamps into the rail channels and position them to secure the solar panel frames. Tighten these bolts using an impact driver to firmly hold the panels in place. As each panel is installed, ensure the PV connectors from the panel are plugged into the microinverter and secured properly. Use cable clips (specifically designed for solar panels) to further secure the wires to the panel frame, preventing them from hanging loose or touching the roof surface, which could cause damage over time.
