Step 1 · Turn Off the Water Supply

Before starting any repairs, always turn off the water supply to your shower. Locate the shut-off valves beneath the sink or near the water heater and turn them clockwise to stop the water flow. If you lack individual shut-off valves, turn off the main water supply to your house.
