Step 6 · Test and Finalize

Now it's time to test your adjustments. Ensure the sink and the area below are dry. Close the pop-up stopper by pushing the lift rod down. Turn on the faucet and fill the sink with a few inches of water. Turn off the water and watch the stopper closely for a minute to see if the water level drops, indicating a leak. If it holds water successfully, pull the lift rod up to open the drain. Observe whether the water drains quickly and completely. If the seal still leaks or it drains too slowly, you may need to go back to Step 4 or 5 and make further fine-tune adjustments. Once you are satisfied with the performance, dry any drips under the sink and put your supplies back in the cabinet.
